Users can subscribe to any channels on which they enjoy the commentary, hand analysis, and feedback. We thought it would be a neat way for individuals and other communities to be part of the HM2 iPhone and iPad application platform. If there’s someone who is an avid forum poster, he can create his own HM2 iPhone app channel. , for example, could create a channel to upload the 10 most talked about hands that day. Jim Varnon: The Channels feature is really a way to share the platform with other individuals and other websites that want to upload and discuss hands with the community. Why was that integrated into the iPhone app? : The “Channels” menu in the iPhone app looks pretty slick. You obviously can’t upload your HM2 database hands if you don’t own HM2, but all other functionality is available and, as I said, you can manually upload hands via the MY HM platform on our website. : So you don’t need to own HM2 in order to take advantage of the iPhone app? (2) It allows those who don’t own HM2 to manually upload hands to the HM2 iPhone/iPad app.

Jim Varnon: MY HM is a free platform on the website that can be used for two purposes: (1) It is an optional cloud-based repository for your entire HM2 hand database where hands can be searched, viewed, and replayed through any web browser. Can you talk about how the MY HM feature is integrated into the software? : The iPhone app uses the MY HM feature within HM2. You can always tag certain hands to stay there indefinitely, so it doesn’t have to be the most recent 100,000 hands. 100,000 hands, therefore, seemed like a reasonable limitation to set. It’s meant to be a tool for you to search and review your recent hands, search and review your recent sessions, and share and comment on hands.
In addition, this is not intended to be a replacement for your HM2 database. Jim Varnon: There’s a practical limitation in terms of how much data we can economically store for free, and the iPhone app is completely free. How much does that limit a user, if at all? : There’s a 100,000-hand limit for the HM2 iPhone app.

Jim Varnon: The Android app is almost complete and I expect to roll it out in the next few months. : When can we expect to see the Android version? Within the next 90 days, all of the video clips will be translated into several other languages. It’s not something you have to watch at your computer you can browse short video clips anytime. The iPhone, iPad, and ultimately Android platforms are excellent ways for communicating that type of information. There are several dozen two- to three-minute training vignettes on very specific topics within HM2.
We’re also going to use it for tutorials and training.
